What should a standard tuck-n-roll bench seat cost to have done in a solid color if I supply the materials? Nothing fancy just good old american tuck-n-roll.....

PM me if ya don't want to post it.

    Thanks

    Root

I just paid $325 to have my bench done in a simple stock 53 chevy pattern and they supplied material and padding. I know its not what you are asking for but you can use it as a guide

I got quoted a grand to do both the front and rear bench, 4 door panels, 2 kick panels, dash cover, and package trey in single color tuck-n-roll.

But I was told of someone in SJ that was charging $175 a bench. I'm still waiting on his number.

  5. that sounds like a deal[1000] for all that.....

Be careful if you take it to Tijauna! Take your own thread and be damn sure they don't use horse***** to fill the rolls! [IMG] Got a guy around here that will do a bench for about $160-175 and no horse*****!

just make sure the guy knows that you want a job like Mr42 did and not just a straight stitch on flat material. That's a lot of work the way Mr42 did it, but that's the only way.

I don't have to go to Mexico. There are tons of Mexicans here that do upholstery cheap. I just wonder if it doesn't go back to old saying..."you get what you pay for"?

Hey Root I just got my 56 done and the whole interior job ran me 1650. The lady charged me 175 for each bench seat. I didnt think it was to bad a price because the seats were nothing but springs and a couple of balls of that old cotton they used back then.
I went with a solid white tuck n roll on the seats and the rear package tray if i can get my friends digital camera i'll get some pictures for ya.

I am not an upholstery guy, but $2200.00 including carpet, headliner, tuck and roll(single color, or two color, no matter) and finished trunk.
Took him about 6 and a half days.

Actually, thats not the ONLY way to do it. I went to the trade school, took upholstery class and did tuck and roll following the teachers direction. I cut each red and white stripe separately and stitched each one over the sheet of foam. A lot of cutting and a lot of sewing, but worth it. Very strong stitching and NO stuffing each pleat. Gorgeous. True traditional tuck and roll.
