Hi, getting ready to fit home brew upholstery in a race car. Is there a better quality snap button installation tool to purchase for this instead of the hand hammer rivet one? See prices from about $65.00 up to about $200.00 for a Hoover tool. And any recommendation for quality snaps to use. Thanks.
Well it better be the high strength type! Getting my Maxi mus Glut-emus (spelling ) in gear. Been way to hot to work in shop. Got the damn throw out bearing issue solved finally. Got enough throw to dis-engage the clutch and no scraping noises from the clutch weights hitting the bell housing when running. But ended up reinforcing clutch pedal again to ensure the pedal will not snap off when depressing the clutch. Funky looking but works. Using a rear end spring spreader up under the chassis ( tight fit) and pulling the closed driveshaft and rear end assembly out was much better than pulling the motor. Now on to upholstery snaps. Ordering DTM 2K primer, pulling panels, finish body work up and get it painted. Not getting any younger. Following your progress. Doing great.
O.K. on the press and snap tool. I assume pop rivet the bottom of snap assemblies on body instead of the screw in style. Again brand best to use.
Use the part with the built-in screw. The pop rivit will crush it so the other part won`t snap on to it. Vicar brand.
