I don't know you, Chris, but I have admired your cars here on the Hamb and in the magazines, and DAMN when I read your initial post I felt like a member of our family had been hit!
This does suck and I hope it's recovered quick !!

    Man that sucks Chris.

Almost sounds like a episode of "overhauling", not sure which would be worse . . . . . . . overhauling or south central hahahah :D :D

    Good luck on the search.

    Sucks dude

    Chris,

This sucks. Now you are in an elite HAMB club of members whose cars have been stollen.

Good luck on the recovery. Sounds like a tow truck with gojaks probably scooped it in about 3 minutes time.

After I saw you today & someone also mentioned it, Howabout a flyer? w/ photo & info? I know a shop over on vanowen who deals mustang, some t- bird, some falcon. I'm sure he'd put it in his shop? early ford store?, cw moss?...etc.??

  13. Unbelievable...

I reposted on my f/b also Chris.

If it's any encouragement, my '56 was stolen before I got it from my Great uncle, and it was missing for years, and still recovered intact. I know things are different now, but for whatever it's worth...

    Good luck, and stay positive!

I made some flyers, and nailed them to telephone poles in our hood, to see if anyone saw anything.
Also I called the border patrol in San Diego/Tijuana, but they automatically stop any stolen car with a police report, but admitted to me that "some" enclosed trucks will get waived by, without inspection.

  22. Chris, I'm so sorry to hear this awful news. I believe in the death penalty for car thieves, especially the pricks that steal classic cars! Are there any security cameras in the area that might have captured this on video? I wish you the best of luck in bringing it back home again.

Another place you can post this is Hotrod Hotline: http://hotrodhotline.com/feature/stolen/ Just send an email with your info and pics with "Stolen Vehicle" in the subject line to: maryann@hotrodhotline.com <maryann@hotrodhotline.com> The rest of you should check out the long list posted there and keep an eye out for them too.

A lot of stolen cars send up in a container at the docks - Long Beach and San Pedro, and there are a lot of containers down there.

I used to know a Lo Jack man who was an ex LAPD detective, he would tell me stories all the time of the countless number of Lo Jack devices found under water at the docks or up in trees...never finding the car.

WOW!!!! Just WOW!!!! Pros, indeed! And probably planned and scoped for that to go down like that. Go-jacks would be the only way. Incredible. Just incredible! I'll keep the good vibes coming your way, man! Hope some luck is on your side!

Just a thought, any chance some of the larger blog or auto news sites would cover the story and help get the word out? Like HUB or one of those sites, where they have news features?
