I kinda figured that diarrhea of the mouth would have brought some leads by now. If for nothing else, the fact that someone in that area all the sudden is making huge progress on a chopped Chevy truck.

    Kill switch.
Three sticks of dynamite behind the dash.
Don't forget the switch when you go to start it!
    That's a real "kill" switch.

This scares me cause I have a 54 ad truck and I'm planning to move to Austin next year.

Stuff can and does get stolen anywhere. The general feeling is that this particular truck was targeted from the beginning. And maybe by someone in the Austin vicinity who thinks that they can blow it apart, repaint it, change the wheels and interior and show up with it next year with no one recognizing it as it was an out of state truck.

It teaches all a lesson in that we need to make our rigs harder to steal even if it means just putting in a hidden kill switch or like one of my rigs (not by design) adding a step in the starting process.

At motels and such, maybe blocking the rods and customs in with a tag along's bagged late model laying frame across the drive so no one can get past it or move it or them. It might be a tad inconvenient for the guy who likes to get up and make a coffee run at daybreak or be first in line at the gate but most clubs almost always have a couple of members or friends tagging along in the daily drivers that could be used to block off the rods or customs in a way to help prevent theft.

You better stay in New Orleans then, since they apparently don't steal trucks there
Anyway, I hope this guy gets his truck back!
