a plane ticket to Austin $188
    1 ball bat..$50
    2 cases of beer..$20

    1 screaming snitch..priceless

  3. I wish I lived closer to Austin, would be fun to put together a Posse when you find out where it's parked. I'm 6'5" 320 lbs I would love to see the guys face when a group a giant hambers walked up. Could do the same thing they did, STEAL it back, what are they gonna do call the cops?! Strong arm the truck outta their grips. If you showed up with a big enough group, they wouldn't even try to stop you.

    No I didnt

no where in that above statement did i say the bat or beer was used;)
(but we all know the beer was;))

could you at least offer up some simpathy for the owner?..or did you just come on to make a remark like that ,than slide back under your rock?

    on second thought ..dont bother.

hope your stuff never gets pinched

Pressure the snitch and remind him that snitches are a dying breed!...Toss him in the river when done...he"ll float across the border and no one will care...

  7. " If " a few HAMB members from the local Austin area were to visit the tipster in person and ask politely every few days... and this were to go on for a couple weeks that might be enough influence to get the tipster to change their mind. Does the tipster have a place of employment? A couple hotrods showing up to a place of employment brings alot of likely unwanted attention. While the tipster will become bothered by the visits, surely ask the members to leave and not to come back, I doubt very much the tipster will call the authorities to stop the visits (that would require a conversation with the authorities).

A lot will depend on the "character" of the tipster, a mouthy punk, older relative, lazy or etc...

Where is the line of just pissed off/bothered enough for the tipster to want it overwith?

Again its not my truck, sometimes I think its better to do something and potentially lose than do nothing and wait to lose.

raise the pot, call or fold

If they wont tell you the name of the guy who stole/has it or where it is why did they call you in the first place? It sounds like this clown may not know anything and just wants to screw with you.

Tipster has a place of business

  11. Any local Austin HAMBers want to get the address from 1lowtrk and pay a polite visit in their cars and make an information request ?

I think 4 would be a nice number.

Polite would be a great way to start, a little more stern each visit... Plenty of time after the first few visits to go and be all shitty and get in the tipsters face.

It would be nice if he took his Business seriously, and was man enough to be a stand up guy. I dont care who I know, or who I run with..If shit is wrong, im not staying in, and im not covering for it.
theres nothing good can ever come from that behavior, or cowardice..wonder if the people he does Business with would like to know he knows, but isnt doing anything to make it right?

    you never know:rolleyes:

i guess the person would be young storing it at a relatives cause they dont have a place of their own ?

i would call the guy everyday and just ask nicely if he could have the truck dropped off at his place of business intact with nothing removed handle the thief later after its returned
i wish i was local would be fun snooping around
if the guy is here on the h.a.m.b he has to do the right thing and get this truck back to its owner before the thief gets caught the hard way

  19. Im with big creep place of business or not if your a stand up guy and involved in the car culture he needs to give it up..Maybe he is just a big pussy and and cant own up to his mistake with getting involved in this...Still wish the best for your ride man...Hope it comes back soon

This "Stand up Guy" tipster that you,re concerned about is every bit as big a piece of shit, as the person that stole, or has the pickup, if he knows anything helpfull, and is unwilling to share the information!! He deserves the same consideration/treatment as the thief. The only thing thats happening now is, if the truck is recoverable at this point, additional dinkin' around is going to lose it!!! I really do feel for ya, and would love to help, but ya gotta get off you're ass man, and do something!

Guys, the threats will get this thread closed down. Calm down and deal with this rationally. Leads are good, but most are false and the few good ones are not worth anything until they are proven true and productive. Anything good is unlikely to come about from threat of violence.

If this guy is so "stand up" why do the cops know of him in the first place. If the cops know you by name it's usually not for a good reason.

Ok DAMN IT.......... I would love to see the truck back to the owner. Lets take this in a new direction. Lets harness the power of the HAMB . Lets build another one. Gather up our spare parts and build the man a new truck. One part at a time.

Man oh man! I wish I could help you out. Come on HAMBers step it up for this guy if your in the area.
Imagine if it was your property! If the tipster has a name and wont share it and this plays out.. and he gets it back without him. I cant wait on that shoe to fall.
Good Luck. I hope the thief ends up in a canal somewhere.

Mate if it was my rig, I would be visiting with the guy and getting him to take you where it is along with the request from the law man and just tell them you are going to pick the truck up and there could be trouble, they should co operate pretty soon.

Unless it is like it was out here a few years ago when a bunch of cops went down involved in a stolen car racket.
