  1. I love the Zero bikes and all the Japaneese stuff going on right now, but some guys here like Cole and this guy still carry the torch in my opinion -

No offense, but that bike looks like any typical bolt together job out there. It's cool, I'd ride it, but it doesn't appear to have a single hand made part on it.

I really like the stuff those Flyrite guys are doing right now. Nothing ground breaking or crazy, just simple and justified... That's my style.

And personally, I think Cole's blue bike is considerably more well thought out than any of those bikes shown earlier from Japan. In fact, I think Cole's bike is prolly the best thought out and implimented bike I've ever seen in person... If only it was black!

And I have to admit, I still have a thing for the simplicity of the brit bike:

I agree with Ryan. I think the Flyrite bikes look great, especially for the money. If I had the cash I'd be on the phone right now with 'em. My kinda bike.
Even tough I watch Am. Chopper I'm not really into "custom bikes", I just watch it for the entertainment. I think the Japaneese build some awesome bikes (and cars), but again, not my style of bike.

  6. No offense taken Nads.. I know whats up, and what looks good to me. Sometimes simplicity is best(ok who am I fooling),Always!! So if its bolt on (not sure it all is), there is a trick or trade to being able to "bolt" on the right parts. You know what I mean, anyone can bolt on parts and gimmicks, but it takes an eye to "bolt" on what looks right on a bike. And for what its worth, I read that this his new bike co. for people on a tight budget, probably not my tight budget but a tight budget..

It's built by Jason Jessee's company Hi-Bond Modified for a client, so I guess to the clien't specs.

I pretty much hate the flyrite chop, fake "hotrod influence", too big a fender gap etc. looks like the 2-wheeled version of 1-800 "nostalgia" rod.

Jason Jesse is one funny mofo. Does good work really, and he does make his own parts, or what he can.

    Nice bike.

I would have to say my influence is definately hotrod driven. I build no frills fast rides. This is my car I started to build before I started my motorcycle shop. My bikes have been built with new parts that were being made in the late 60's to early 70's. Back then you couldnt call a manufacturer(Which we are now, and if anyone on here has been through the process is very tough and time consuming not to mention costs a good sum of money)and have a bike like it. A bike like this would have been made by a guy that had a stock Harley. Nothing has changed, except we make it very affordable to a working man to have an old school bike made with new school parts which ellimates the old school troubles. Sorry for trying to help a brother out.

For anyone going to the Round Up here in Austin, I am stretching my legs a bit and building a complete one-off bike. Its a dragster themed 60's style bike with mechanical Hilborn fuel injection. I decided to build it after my car and my hotrod influence.

Thanks for everyone elses support in doing something I love to do.

    -Jason

  12. Evil - your bikes rock keep the hot rod influence going. and since was that a "bad" thing.. I like what you are doing and at a good price, If I could afford it, i wouldnt think twice about buying one from you.

Hell, I've loved FlyRite choppers since I first heard of them on here. In fact, right now, I'm trying to figure out how I can finance one myself, my credit sucks bad so it's going to have to be creative so I don't get stuck with HUGE interest rates, but I've missed my bike dearly since I sold it for my car and the FlyRite basic is right up my alley. To each his own I guess, but his bikes are the shit.

Nads , don't splash Jesse's bike to hard till you get a better look at it . It actually has quite a few handbuilt items on it . He is a pretty serious bike guy , so is Rico . They know thier shit and they know how to build solid bikes . [IMG]

OK Zman- I want to hear the low down on this Dan Brown vs JJ thing.. I never heard this before. But I do remember the guy back in the day, never thought him for much of a swinger though..

I'm not sure what "fake hot rod influence" is, but I do know that Jason is a great guy, building nice, solid, affordable bikes. I think the average person would be hard pressed to build something half as nice for alot more cash.

  25. =MIKE= -I am on there everyday. It just looks different than the one I swiped today off there.(the 1st pic on this thread). I am a dork and save pics of all the cool bikes I see on there and didnt see that one..

I'm not nessicarily a harley lover .I got lucky and found one for cheap , and I do like em alot , but I am mostly a chopper lover . I have seen hondas , triumphs and harleys that all give you that tingly feeling . That bike is pretty bitchen man [IMG] I'll bet ALOT cheeper than building a modern harley chopper !
