Sometimes those towns kinda suck, from here to Myrtle Beach the speed limit will go from like, 55 to 25 with a cop sittin' right there. I can name names, but I dunno where all you fellas live.
All great suggestions but you can't miss a Friday afternoon/evening at Bob's Big Boy on Riverside Drive in Burbank (actually Toluca Lake). Maybe we'll see you on "The Mother Road" this year, we are finally going to do it all the way.
HWY 1 up the cali coast-love them redwoods! Then on to Yosemite! Be sure to go to any so-cal beach for an afternoon of fun. Lake Tahoe is Gorgeous. You can hit Reno, Vegas, and the Grand Canyon next. Lake Havasu, on the way back to LAX. God I wish California wasn't such a screwed up place to live. It has The BEST scenery on the planet!
I arrive 21 July - buying a Beach Hop Wagon to give away next year... Going to head up to NHRA Drags at Sonoma, then Hot August Nights and onto Bonneville, then back to LA. More than happy catch up and show you round. We are spoilt for scenery in NZ - but there is some fatastic sights in the USA of you want to play tourist. Flying from Bonneville to LA? You would need to drive to Salt Lake City - 2 hours drive. Driving can be done - but a long day. I usually do an overnight in Reno on the way. YOU MUST GO TO BOTH THE NHRA & PETERSON MUSEUMS IN L.A! Noddy
i would say fly into utah, see a day or two of speed week and then drive up and see sturgis, as the worlds largest bike rally will be going on while you are there, i for one will be at sturgis this year
Sturgis, the Black hills, Yellowstone, Devil's tower, all fairly close together, don't miss 'em! My advice? Don't fall for the American Express money order thing. Many places, motels, grocery stores, cafe's, etc., won't touch them. You have to go to a bank, not easy when you roll into town at suppertime.
