Anyone up to speed on the usability of the different USC fillers? I'm basically looking at four of their offerings that all seem to pretty much provide identical usage parameters. The products in question would be: Fuzion, Kromate Lite, Special Lite and Feather-Rite. My particular usage would be general 1/8" or less fill/skim duties. If anyone can offer insight or a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated. USC Fillers Catalog > https://www.uschem.com/en/products/body-fillers/
Any filler comes down to this..ya get what ya pay for…the more money equals better chemistry, which means it does the two things most important with fillers..sands easily and has good adhesion quality’s
I can't answer your question but I can say I use fuzion and love it. I've used alot of different fillers and fuzion is, to me anyway, the best bang for your buck. It sands easily, lays down nice and feathers nicely too. ..
Appreciate the replies. Looking at the SDS for each shows very little as to component differences, if any, amongst the four. The TDS are also very nearly identical with the only real difference in usage being Special-Lite and Feather-Rite are about 7%-8% more viscous than Fuzion and Kromate. Of these four options Fuzion is also the only one touting N-TEK as an adhesion promoter. No, I'm not attempting to be obsessive. Any of these products are very likely to be a cut above the parts store offerings. I'm simply intrigued by the multiples of similar fillers (8-10) by one company with no clear documented distinction as to suitability of application. I'll throw my dart (or flip a coin) and end up with one of them. ;-)
I agree with you, I've looked at different ones and like you, couldn't find a big enough difference to tell why some cost more than others, not just USC either. Or why one has a bunch of hype behind it and another has very little mention.... ....
