If you can get your hands on a decent gas truck motor like a 4 ring tall 427, they are already heavy duty enough to handle a blower and would work like tom cat ***s for a street car.
HD rods, crank, pistons, timing chain, oil pump, and etc.already there.
Add a blower manifold with a decent used 6 0r 8-71 and a drive, cam, and good magneto, and boogty boogty...... go racin'.
In days gone by, even a stock New Yorker or Imperial engine would make a fueler by adding a 6-71, skinny connecting rods and all.

SAME REASOn everything else is for sale at swapmeeets 4 speeds , cams, carbs etc. doesnt mean there are no good or worn out, lot of times the seller has no use for them anymore or like said before traded or bought at a cheap price and looking to make a few bucks, be a educated shopper and you may end up with a good deal. Blowers are not complicated just know what you are looking at and know what it costs to rework.
