I bought an Edelbrock xc-8 manifold and want to use it on the block that I have now. The block is 1987 from a firebird w/tpi. Do the heads have the
center bolt angle changed. Is it possible to put 70's style heads on this block so that I can use this manifold. This style of manifold was on the car
in when it was in an article in Car Craft magazine in 1974. I also understand that the use of roller style rockers on the heads can not be used because the valve covers will not clear the bottom of the manifold.

If that is the two four cross ram manifold, before you put it on know that it doesnt run well in any but the very best weather. No heat under those carbs means bad cruising even on a September morning in your climate. If you only want to race, fatten it up and go for it.
