I'm looking for advice on using a '48-52 Ford F1 axle in a lightweight rod.

I'm accumulating parts for a T-bucket w/ a Pontiac V8 and found a deal on the axle... complete with spindles (but no brakes) for $50! Could I make this work with a '68 Mustang steering box (which I've had for years).

What would you recommend for springs (quarter eliptics?)? Split wishbones, hairpins, or 4-bar?

Any pics of such a set-up?
