Well, for starters, my comment was intended as a good natured 'tweak'.....but....since you asked.......re-read your comments and the replies that indicate you either didn't read, or didn't comprehend, what had been posted by both the OP and others regarding the details of his situation prior to your comments.........i.e. closed driveshaft, he ALREADY said he'd obtained trailer when you whacked him (again) about it etc. I'll delete my post since you are so sensitive about it............. follow V8 garages advice, which I can also vouch for.....pulling a car backwards on a tow dolly is just not safe....ask me how I know...don't do it, unless its just down the block. the car will sway from side to side and can get very violent. i had to do it because of a rear end problem, big mistake....never again...
It's a sketchy drive brother. My dad did it a long time ago. We brought back a 47 Dodge pick up from Round Rock TX all the way over to Salinas CA. Never again! It was a hell of a ride. I was only 13 and I never want to relive that long roller coaster ride.
DON'T put a car on a dolly backwards!!! NO NO NO! Never, ever, ever! This is ALWAYS a bad idea. The ONLY way to tow a car backwards is on the back of a wrecker, period. If you pull it normally (fronts on the dolly), do NOT tie the steering wheel. The dolly needs the car to be able to steer for the geometry to work right. With an automatic car that has an enclosed driveshaft, you really NEED to trailer it. A dolly is not a good option for your needs.
also WRONG, at least potentially. If the dolly has a pivot, it is recommended to lock the wheel and/or tie it off, otherwise they will not always come back to center properly or can come loose from the straps. Obviously, if you have one of the UBER cheap and ****py dollies with no pivot, you ought leave the wheels unlocked.
If you don't know how to cuss use a tow dolly one time and you will make up words no one has ever heard!!!!!! peace
