Could someone tell me if I can use 65 Mustang motor mounts on a 289 to bolt it in a 56 Ford Sedan without modifying the stock cross member? I heard that it works from a guy that knew a guy, but I'd like to hear from someone who has seen it done or done it themselves. They look like they would work but before I go buy them and try it I'm looking for a little help. Thanks.
I'm not to sure on the '65 mounts, but I helped a guy put a later 302 (out of a late 80's Mustang in his '56. We swapped the mounts from left to right and only had to elongate 1 hole in the '56's stock crossmember. It was nearly a bolt in.
