There is a guy in Newberg Oregon that will make any intake and head for them. he advertises in hemmings, but if you can't find it let me know and i'll get the number.

  4. "Speedy Bill" Smith (Speedway Motors) told me about a guy in New Zealand or Australia who makes finned-aluminum heads for those things.

Jim, the zephyr that sold for $400,000 last year at Barrett Jackson was built right here in town at Tim's hot rods. It had a built lincoln v12 in it. Give Tim a call or go see him and find out where the stuff came from. His shop is on Barker road, between Trent and I-90.

The car is now in America being used as everyday transport while the owner shows two of his other cars.

    From N.Z.

Garth Hogan in N.Z. has made finned alloy heads and intakes for these for his own use. Don't know if he is interested in selling any.

'Woody' Whitehouse has a '39 Lincoln sedan with a triple carb V12 and there is also a '39 roadster with triple carbs down here. I have a friend that lives locally that has 2 of these motors in one of his sheds. He plans to fit one into an old style hot rod one day. Cool looking motor.

  14. Rod Hadfield was the owner of Castlemaine Rod Shop until last year when he retired and sold it. Car is his, you guys in the states will probably see it out and about if he has taken it over there.

I've crossed paths with Rod 3 or 4 times here in SoCal in the past month. He had that 29 pickup at the last Pomona and Long Beach swap meets.

I don't know how long he plans on being here.

I tried to talk him to making the road trip to the Roundup with us.

Least you got to see it in person!

There was a running v-12 on e bay 3 months ago that didn't sell the guy wanted $5,000 for and he said make an offer but i didn't buy it.

That engine still looks good in any hotrod.

I've got a '39 Lincoln Zephyr HV-12 Convertible Club Coupe. I've had several conversations with a company called MFT/USA in ElPaso, Texas. They are a casting & machine shop that are making aluminum heads (in the stock configuration) as well as a two pot intake manifold. The price he told me was $2,250.00 for the heads and $1,250.00 for the intake. His phone nyumber is: 915-921-5400. If you go for them, let me know the quality as I have not desided as yet.

PS. My V-12 gets good oil pressure however, they were prone to smoke a bit, even when new. Enjoy it.

  24. Hey! Nice pics Aedan, where'd you nick them from? ;)

    Here's some more...

    Who's this handsome bloke?

Most of the bits on that engine were scratch built, so good luck!

Seems like they use a V8 truck oil pump to cure the problem.

Can't tell you about their quality because I never got it. I found out that MFT/USA (now called Empire Motors Inc, A.K.A. Imperial Bronze and Granite, etc.) in El Paso, Texas was all talk after they got my money for a new head. 3 years later, still no head. Owner Val Blazer now goes by the name of Dave Johnson, but its the same guy. Do a couple of search on the internet, the story will come out: Buyer beware.

Just catchin up on your thread. I'm building a V12 for a 37 Zephyr project and I've got to tell ya performance parts are big bucks for very little hp gain if you can find them to begin with. I'm going a different route and making my own intake and headers rather than the cast items that are out there. You may want to do the same and save some $$$.
Finned aluminum heads are available from a fellow in San Jose Calif for about $3500.00. and a cast 3 x 2 intake will set you back $1750.00. I've got a custom cam grind if you need specs on it. A little hotter ignition and it should run fairly well but it would be easy to spend $10,000.00 and only get 275 bhp.

    Best of Luck!

yep this was the site I was going to post , looks like really nice stuff !
    those are neat motors !
thermal coating the exhaust ports would really help cut down on the heat , I would think .
    what`s It going in ?
