I'm thinking of starting another project and am looking for your input. I've seen dual Wico mag set-ups for the flathead ford V-8 in both a V style and an horizontal, opposed style, but I don't actually see them being used. I have several 6 cylinder Wico mags and had an idea to build a V style, dual mag set-up for the flathead lincoln V-12's. Several questions: 1. Has anyone ever made a similar set-up either privately or commercially? 2. What years of motor production are the most popular/available/used? 3. Would anyone actually want to buy it at a price that it would make it worth building in the first place? (this would very time consuming) 4. Does anyone have a stock timing cover and distributor for sale(reasonably priced), to look at. Is there any difference in these parts over their years of production? I don't have a motor to build this for or know much of anything about the lincoln V-12's. I got a close look at one at a car show this week, and think It can be done. If it were to be built, I would rather have a customer for it, ahead of time. Thanks in advance for your ideas, comments, criticisims. -Andrew

I think this is the sort of project you do for your own motor, and if in the course of posting the method as a tech article here, someone contacts you about making them one , you could defray some costs..
as a commercial propsoition id say your projected sales figures for the next five years would be in the order of oh, say, one?

that said, I would love to read about it getting done, but I think building a V twin four cyl mag drive to suit a flathead V8 would be a MUCH better proposition, there were lots of four cyl. mags made (very common on fourties /fifties english cars) and you would have a sizeable market to tap into..
