Hello everyone. I am planning on buying a 36 5-window but it looks like the guy won't be able to make it run. So, I am wondering what it will take to put a 21 stud flattie (I have) inplace of the 60. Will it bolt up to the tranny and are motor mounts in the right place, you know stuff like that?

    Thanks,

    Darrin

First, does it actually have a 60 in it?? How many head studs per side?
60 was only available in England and Europe in 1936, and few were swapped into earlier cars here because the things developed such a bad reputation for full size cars. Just seems unlikely...anyway, basic original mounts in the car are for 221, so if it actually has a 60 you only need to toss whatever was used to extend mounts back. Any 221-238-255 flathead can be adapted.

Whatever you do....don't scrap the 60 hp V-8. The vintage Midget racers are always looking for them.
