Yeah. Mr Clean nailed it. They say Turnpike Cruiser right on them.

Did you all see the kettle there on the front bumper? Maybe he's gonna syphon boiling water from the rad for his cuppa??

I meant first to say thank you guys for those instant and informative replies. I like the look of that car --- an Austin Mini for serious track work!

One interesting thing is that the extra piece on top is only on one side due to the air cleaner snout on the other side. I have seen a hotrod with 2 of the same side valve covers which is pretty cool.

Tommy, I just Googled the motor, and the only photos I found showed that plaque on the right-hand valve cover for that reason --- this stock car has one on the LH cover --- thanks for pointing out this detail.

Personally, I'd like the old (Bedford?) Ambulance in the background left!

Those English guys took no prisoners. Here's a 430 Merc motored maniac ready to attack, also in the sixties. Accessory #1 was the heavy gauge steel bumpers. Nowadays it's money, sponsors, good behaviour ----:[IMG]

Thanks again for that info, and also apologies for loading a too-big jpg photo --- I am a bit ignorant of the how-to's, and of course have not "read the instructions" for H.A.M.B..
