Complete with the Ford 3 speed box:

That is pretty darn cool in my opinion. A friend and I are currently putting a 302 Ford in a 76 Vega just to piss off the local Chevy guys. This car just plain rocks!

  3. Hahaha! Wow! I wasn't expecting to see that under the hood.

I have known about it for about 15 years. It is sitting in a storage lot. The owner is just about to sell it.

  7. Don Hardy sold a ton of V8 Vega conversion kits back in the day, but I'm guessing this wasn't one of them!

Kinda like Ak Miller's Pinto with the Model A four banger but not as fast!

    Wrong for two reasons....

    1.) It's a Vega for christs sake!!
2.) They ruined a good flathead buy wrapping a Vega around it.

In the ba*****t in Cobo Hall this year, there was a lowrider bodydropped, mini SUV (bronco II, or explorer) laying frame with a flathead mill.

I know of a lot better places that flattie could go.

That one looks like the results of too much beer and too many what if? along with a dead Vega and a live flathead that was probably pulled out of something else and replaced with an overhead at the time.

We got flatties showing up in peculiar places this week. First a Ranger now a Vega.

I know of one, in a channeled Model A roadster that now has a pretty stout 350 that would turn the Vega into a monster on the street.

Waste of a perfectly good Trans Am hood scoop.

  23. MMMMmmmmm, I've always liked those early Vegas (my first car at 15). If it wasn't so far away, I'd buy it for the car and sell engine.

(please note, there is no sarcasm written into this. I am serious)

  24. I don't know what's worse, a Vega with a flattie or a Model A with a Chevy V-8 :)

I guess that's why they say "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"?

  27. Hope you bought the car for nothing and took that flathead out . . . it could use a good home and has some nice parts on it!

Some real nice parts on that motor - Evans Heads , Edelbrock manifold .....

Both that and the Bronco II fall into the Dumb *** category in my book, but whatever. Need to save that flatty
