v16, 1,000 c.i. caddy

    Can anyone tell me how to hook 2 V-8 Caddy engines together in line? What do I need for a coupler? Thanx!! Arnie

  3. double sprocket flanges & heavy duty two or 4 row chains. That's how all the old doubles were done.

    do a search for multiple motor powered diggers , id try a few differnt wordings, its been discussed quite a few times though i dont think its been for any specific motor im sure itd apply to your aplication

    Tractor pullers would be a good source of multi engine info too.

    And, if you trust your bolts, make a flange to replace the damper on the rear motor and bolt the front motor crank flange to the rear motor snout flange. If you left the flexplate in there too, you could run 2 starters to help cranking over a 1000 CI beast.

  8. I'd try to work out a solution which would allow for a damper on engine #2. I don't know how important they are, but the mopar perf. engine book seems to think they are.

    I remember reading an interview with the builder of one of the 1960's twin engine rails who had problems keeping bearings in the second engine. After the fact, he figures now that it was a lack of harmonic balacer on the rear engine; the front had a big drive for the superchargers, which would soak up a lot of the 'bounciness' of the crank.

    And you know, I read this on the internet - it must be true!

    Please keep us posted on this disturbing project!
