From 1915 to 1948 all Cadillac V-8 engines were flatheads. Only the '31-'37 V-12 and V-16 engines were OHV. Both were designed by Owen Nacker and both were discontinued in 1937. From '38-'48 all Cadillac engines were once again flatheads.
