do they all share the same pan gasket = i.e. pans

or, if it have a 59a pan with rear bowl , can i simply remove the rear most part

is a v8 60 pan the same as a 59a as i have two of them laying about on old motors to use
is the oil pick up tube in a different spot compared to a 53 shoebox 8ba

also the 40 crossmember --- seems that the engine mount location is much higher than a 37
    i can switch in a 37 crossmember
but does than mean a 40 ford engine mount is unique??
i.e. they just have the 1/2'' hole

All the pans are different, and I don’t think you could easily modify one gasket to fit the other.

ahh, so not impossible to do, the rear most part will need the 8ba section welded in

What are you trying to do?
    Some more info....
8RT (1948-52) truck pan is rear sump and similar to the 59A pans but not interchangeable. The 8RT uses a truck specific starter plate that is compatible with the early V8 transmission.
8BA ('49-'53) car pan is center sump and it is used with a starter plate that is not compatible with the truck and early V8 transmission.
59A and earlier....(pre-49) I'm not as knowledgeable about these other than to say that these had a vent for crankcase ventilation. Many are rear sump.

i am thinking an f1 sump will still hit - 37 reversed eye
the plan is to take my 59a pan
pick off the rear part to the bell houseing
weld in the area with th rope seal into that for the 8ba
run the 59a pick up tube
    i have a 3 rib pan

the trouble i am having is it have a 40 crossmember - the motor mount plane is a smidgers higher than a 37 crossmember.

hard to explain, but the 59a pan i have is on an 8ba somehow!!!!!
??? yes i don't knoe either, had a bodge half - half bell spacer thong in there!!

You don't have a '41 six cylinder front crossmember by any chance do you. They are indeed different. '35-'40 should be the same.

37 crossmember, comes over from ch***is and drops instantly 5/8th inch - this frame isnt having a flathead, so IF i swap in the 40 crossmember I will go down 5/8ths? this isnt gettiong a dropped axle, just a reversed eye spring

is that a 41 6 crossmember - this is getting an 8ba with truck pumps, stock mounts, i have another 37 front crossmember that i can switch in.
/\ this may not even be a stock crossmember?

is that a stock 40 crossmember and the other has been modified....???

it has later rad mounts than the 37 style

the flats where the mounts sit on the above are about 5/8ths higher
i have a 37 crossmember, should i just switch it in?
am also going to unsplit the wishbone and fit a stock one back into this and return a stock centre bit to it.
maybe fit a non reversed eye spring - i think its going to be too low

good news is - it is an early 38 inch to perch dropped axle which is great!!!
