V8 60 help

    I have a V8 60 that I cant find any numbers on it. The transmission bell housing has the numbers 54-263776, If the transmission has been changed to a different year, how would you tell what year motor do I have. thanks for any help Bill

    Are the sides of the block tin or cast is a good start

    So from what ive gathered, the 37 was a tin sided block, 38 and 39 were cast, and 40 was cast but had a bigger crank 1.599" oposed to 1.699 . Now this isnt including the really rare early production one, or the vedettes or simca ones used into the 60's or the OHV ones from south america
