Technical v8-60 transmission to model a

    hi, can any one tell me if the v8-60 transmission works on the model a ford 4 banger,using the clings
    adapter , or is it only the trans from the larger v8s,
    thanks for any help

    a 4 banger has more torque than that 60hp by far

  3. some are using the later V/8 trans to 1939....any around your area ?

    The 37-39 toploader for the little V8-60 cars will bolt up to the adapter but the input shaft is the small 1" ten spline. That won't match up to the model A clutch disc. You'd have to find or have made a disc with the 1" hub. You'd also have to use the 60hp U-joint.

    Unless you planned to flog it pretty hard, the trans would handle the Model A horsepower and you'd have the 2nd/high synchro. But a 39 style toploader from an 85hp would be the better choice, and have the correct input shaft splines.
