Is there a kit available that provides the bit needed to install a V8 axle in a Model A? Primarily I am thinking mostly about spring perches but maybe radius rod mounting as well. I do not at the moment have a V8 axle in hand so I can’t examine one myself right now.
Don’t mean to be a smart *** but axles are not engine specific. Your stock A axle or a 32 repo will handle a V8
Shop around there are many different brackets offered to attach any spring(s) to the rear end. https://www.roadstersupply.com/Model-A-Rear-Spring-Hangers-p/soc-50112.htm https://www.roadstersupply.com/Forged-Rear-Buggy-Spring-Hangers-p/soc-63201f.htm https://www.millworkshotrod.com/pro...ord-and-lincoln-brakes?variant=14329173180461 https://www.millworkshotrod.com/col...ring-hangers-with-gussets?variant=37809133767
Dino, I am going to have to narrow an axle and I don’t think a Model A axle is worth the trouble. A V8 axle is probably not worth it either but I’m trying to keep the Banjo look. I already have a V8 axle as well. My question was not engine specific but I was referring to those axles used during the V8 Era. That’s how everybody I know thinks of them. I suppose I could say “an axle used behind the flathead V8 between 1932 and 1948”
