I went to the Flag Day Show at the local VA.
There were 3 mid 50s Fords there.

I know this is totally wrong for here but my buddy bought her this week and is very proud of it. 1967 Tornado.

Yeah I remember those, the first front wheel burnout I ever saw was a Tornado. :D

My mom and step-dad bought one new, it was my mom's favorite car ever. I couldn't believe how well that barge did in the snow. Good memories!

I remember rear-engined hot rods built from the Tornado drivetrain

There is or was a guy here in the Salem Oregon area that has a 32 Ford roadster with a Toronado drivetrain in the rear and a flip up body. It was an old show car built in the 1970's, haven't seen it for a while but used to show up at local car shows from time to time. Had overheating issues and the owner said it didn't drive real well. Can't find pictures of it right now......

Hey, a little late but I found a picture of that Toronado powered Ford roadster. I was wrong about the year (it's a 1930 not a 32) but it is owned by a guy in our car club here in Salem Oregon, Roman Baszniak. It was an AMBR car. ModelARoadsterAndSatItOnAnOlds-vi.jpg

Well , that was definitely unique.
I just remembered that the mid 70s GMC motorhomes also used the Toronado trans axle and 455 Olds engine. My brother in law had one.
