Because of my cam i have to run a vacuum pump for my brakes. I got one out of a Audi. My problem is i cant find a vacuum switch to control the pump. Anyone has a source for it?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BZODN9A?pc_redir=1408653852&robot_redir=1 ^ that should work with a relay* You just need to find out if its normally open or normally closed and wire it accordingly. http://www.cjponyparts.com/brake-bo...ign=shopping&gclid=CLLIst6C1MACFVJo7Aod7B0ALw ^thats a kit, but maybe chase that down to see if you can get just the switch. ^ Then there's this thing - http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/universal_brake_***ist.html It's sounds very interesting
Local compacts over here with diesel engine (Isuzu) had a vacuum pump on rear of alternator. Many small Japanese trucks do similar. That's a pace to start. Good for blower engines.
honeywell still makes hobbs switches and in vacuum applications some are adjustable some are OEM apps ( found several delphis to be hobbs made) , if you know what the pump was out of go to rockauto.com and see if they sell it ( look under switches and brakees as sometimes its listed under one or the other or both also look under european versions of the car too ) or if you know the part number type it in as sometimes there search function will cross reference it, found many a weird item over there as for hobbs allied electronics carries there products
found this , this is ssbc uses in there kits http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/400763612886?item=400763612886&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466
Get a belt driven pump off a diesel. 7.3 powerstroke had a small unit that never went bad. The electric ones are noisy and quit every so often
They make adjustable vacuum switches for controlling lockup torque converters in automatic transmissions. Might need to use it to control a relay depending on how much current your pump draws. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
