just took out my vacuum wiper canister in my 54 customline.i was able to get about 1 rotation, then they would stop.im unfamiliar with these i did a search and seen guys were putting in electric boxes but everything i seen was expensive.with two baby's i got to see if i could fix this one.so im looking for any advice i can get thank you.
I replaced my vacuum motor on my 55' with a rebuilt one. It worked good as long as your engine makes good vacuum. It cost close to $100, but that was about 13 yrs. ago. Not sure of the price now, but I was happy with mine at the time.
Fill it up through the vacuum port with a mixture of 50/50 ATF and mineral spirits for about a day. Then drain it out, reinstall and it should work fine if there was anything left of the seals inside it. The ATF/spirits will clean, lube and swell the seals alittle.
thank you guys very much, please correct me if im wrong im guessing there isnt anything that is supposed to go to the port on the very bottom.thanks again
52 Plymouth, go to my albums and look at Michelles ranchwagon project Album. There are photos of what I did there. Used a Toyota wiper motor and single pivot from the tail door of a mid '90's toyota suv . Have a look and PM me if you need more info.
