Sad day for H.A.M.B. Family. Sincere sympathy goes out to his friends, and especially his immediate Family
Sure hated to read of his passing. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Wish we could have met. He was definitely one of the original old time hot rod guys on here, who had been there and done it! I will miss his insightful knowledge and remarks. Godspeed Mike.
Another disturbing development. Much like Jim Linder, Mike seemed to be the "genuine article". May his family and friends realize, that to no small degree, we also share in their burden.
Bad news day. Always read his posts. We conversed a few times, through PMs, as my son lived in Santa Clara for 5 years, recently, and Mike filled me in on the history of the area. Enlightening for sure. God bless you Mike.
I hate Mondays. This place is a lot poorer today on account of our lost members to say nothing of the loss their respectful families and close friends are feeling. We are going to have to "step" it up around here, those are some big "shoes" to fill. Rest in peace and thank you Mike, for all of your help and nice words.
Sad News Prayers to Family you have to live every day, we are all getting to the age where the next one could be our last Never go to bed fighting with the loved one
Although I have never dealt, or spoke with Mike directly I always paid attention to whatever he had to say. He is missed already.
Uhmm, nuts. Condolences to friends n family, esp: Joey. Marcus... Added: Gotta say this: Some years back, talked to Mike on ph a couple of times about VolksRods/builders/owners/n such. Good convos. Even then he always made it a point to mention 2nd wife Joey, & how much he appreciated her, how much she helped out, not to mention how lucky he was she came into his life, which had become so much better w/her arrival, & how much happier he was because of it. . Wish there were more women - a lot more - like her around. . World would be a whole lot better, I think.
Sad to see that, I always enjoyed reading what he had to say. My condolences to his family and friends.
X2. Again I did not know Mike other than on the HAMB but am sure we would have gotten along had we met in "real life". My condolences to his family and friends...
Ya know, I had to come back to this post. I’ve mentioned a thing about him earlier, but you know what used to really give me a smile when Mike would post? He’d say something along the lines of “second wife Joey….” From Mikes replies that included her, that lady has some skills as well. Dang, with the PMs I’ve had with him ( not a ton) it sure feels like a friend is now gone. Not just a forum member.
It is with a heavy heart and sadness, to have read the post, of the passing of "ATWATER MIKE" I was born at Castle A.F.B. there in Atwater in 53. Shortly after joining the H.A.M.B. in 2019, I noticed a post by "Atwater Mike", and he was the first H.A.M.B. member I actually wrote my first PM to, and introduced myself as a former resident of Atwater. He actually worked for a former boss of mine ( Vern Wilhoite ) at E&H garage there in Atwater. It was so pleasant to converse with him and exchange our experiences there in Atwater. Mike was the "genuine article", when it came to hot rods, and all things mechanical, he truly was a wealth of information. It was always cool to see what his input was, on almost any topic or thread, that he thought he could add his experience to. The H.A.M.B. was a better place because of his participation, and the H.A.M.B., will be a bit more empty place because of his passing! R.I.P. My friend.
