Has anyone used Valspar LIC paint? I am looking at their LIC43 single stage polyurathane enamel. How does it look? How well does it hold up? Is there a lot of orange peel due to not being able to color sand? Thanks

image.png I used Valspar tractor paint on this coupe. I bought it at Farm&Fleet. I color sanded it just like you do with acrylic enamel.....it turned out great. Not a show rod paint job, but a very nice driver quality paint job. The paint I used was $35.00/ gal., their LIC43 is probably better paint than I used.

The LIC stands for light industrial coatings. If you have a car you are taking to the auction, then it might be good for that. The pigment in the LIC is not a high quality like what is in their automotive lines. It just will not hold up to sunlight, and will dull out over time.

The cheapest paint in the world will slick out, it's the pigment and chemistry that keep the richness of color long term.

Oh no, patina sooner rather than later!
