I have a 1973 chevy 350 and I just got some new valve covers and my question is about the breathers .My other valve covers had a pcv valve coming from the carb to the right hand rear of the valve cover and the left side just had a push in breather .The new valve covers on the left side don't have breather just a tight fitting thread on oil fill cap .Can somebody explain what is necessary or can I just eliminate the one breather or are these covers not going to work?

  2. I assume you still have a PCV location on your new covers, if so you can switch out the filler cap for a thread on breather. Or use a grommet and a push in breather. I always use some sort of PCV set up. When using valve covers with no holes I use the draft tube or manifold for PCV and breather in the oil fill tube. Gotta breath.

Ah ok makes more sense now .Just was getting a lot of mixed answers for such a simple thing .Can I eliminate the hose to the carb and just put a breather on the pcv side and eliminate the pcv and just cap off the carb ?

For best results try and duplicate what you had before.
