THE HARDEST FACTORY ALUMINUM VALVE COVER TO EVER FIND.
LINCOLN MERCURY M335 1957 & 1958 FACTORY ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS. LINCOLN MADE THESE AS AN OVER THE COUNTER DELAER INSTALLED OPTION IN 1957 & 1958 ON THE 368 V-8s WITH THE RACING PACKAGE.
THE PACKAGE ALSO INCLUDED A 2X4 DUAL QUAD FACTORY ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH LINKAGE AND AIR CLEANER, A LONG DURATION CAMSHAFT WITH LIFTER AND SPRINGS.
THE INSTALLED PACKAGE INCREASED THE HORSEPOWER FROM THE STANDARD 290HP TO 335HP OR M335.

THIS PARTICULAR COVER IS ACTUALLY A RECAST FROM AN ORIGINAL. JUST REMEMBERED I HAD IT LYING AROUND FROM A SMALL BATCH WE CAST TO REPLACE A BROKEN ONE FOR A CUSTOMER.

I had a set of M/T's on my Deuce pickup. My initials are M L so I cut the "T" 's off, made them into "L's" and soldered them back on with aluminum solder. When I sold the truck I told the guy I'd replace them with new ones and he wouldn't go for it! Thought they were really rare. He didn't have an M or an L in his whole name. So if anyone in Michigan comes up with a set of M/L valve covers I'd be interested in them.

  20. I worked for International Harvester as a truck salesman for 32 years and I have NEVER seen or even heard of any cast aluminum valve covers for the 266 - 304 - 345 - 392 series of V-8 engines. These must me a one-off somebody made. Really nice and really rare, and really cool however!

Being that they look mostly identical to the stamped steel ones, It would be fairly simple to make a sand-cast mold for aluminum using a steel cover as a blank and pour one or a few. Still, They are cool as hell. :D

I bought these Keystone valve covers back in the 70's and had them replated in the 90's.
