Hot Rods Valve Springs

Putting a new comp cams cam and springs in my sbf. So my question is, do i really have to take those inner springs out to (break in) the new cam.

First 421 Pontiac Super Duty cars had the "good" springs in a package in the trunk, & instructions to change when cam & lifters are run in. McKellar knew what he was doing ....

 

Yes, without a doubt do it...for the time it takes plus the aggravation and expense of doing another overhaul it's a small price to pay.
However, if you went with a roller cam there wouldn't be an issue from the get-go.
