If you’ve registered for the event but haven’t received the hotel details, please contact me and I will forward the hotel link and cover letter to you…… Mac

This is definitely going to take place in September 13-14th this year, and will be held at our shop in the Cincinnati area (Ohio). It’s been kicked around for several years and I’ve decided that if we do it, it’s going to be now. I’m looking for guys (and gals who are interested) who would like to join us for two days of intense schooling in the early Ford 3 speed transmissions…..specifically the 1932-52 toploader and 40-48 sideloader types. We’re going to limit the group to about 20 attendees. This will be very hands on….watching how we do things, but trying things out as well. The school will be free of charge but attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Cincinnati, plus your hotel accommodations. We’ll provide the mid day meals.

What I would like to know is how many would commit to this. I would work with a slightly smaller group but we’re hoping to have 15 to 20 attendees. For now, a verbal commitment is needed and helpful for us to make this move forward. We’ve now heard from enough individuals who want to come that the event is definitely going to happen. There are still some openings available so please let me know if you’re interested in attending.

I will try to answer any questions here on this forum but will also reply to private emails. The email address is mac@vanpeltsales.com.

We're starting to get interest from folks wanting to come. If you decide to try to make it, please send me an email so we can put your contact information on the list, rather than posting it here. Thanks!

Thank you for doing that. The list is growing and I’m pretty confident that we’ll be moving forward with the training school. It was asked over on FORDBARN what days of the week we would have the training. I plan for actual session days of Wednesday and Thursday. Arrival on Tuesday and everyone heading home on Friday. I’m leaning toward the first or second week of September, but the dates are not set as of yet.

I’d like to add that this is going to be a one time thing. We’ll be shutting down shop operations for roughly a week in order to prepare for and conduct the training. As much as I will enjoy sharing our knowledge and experience with like minded people, I doubt that we will ever do this again. So, if anyone is thinking about coming yet hopes it’ll be offered again in the future, you will miss out on this chance.

Okay fellows…..we’re definitely on for the school. The training days are September 13-14. This means travel day is Tuesday the 12th and your return would be Friday the 15th. Plan on 8am to 4pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Lunch will be provided by us. The gears are starting to turn (catchy phrase right?) to make this a fun and interesting experience. We still have some openings to fill so please contact me if you’re interested.

I will post the details for the hotel options very soon. If you’re traveling by car, the shop and hotel are in the ****ord, Ohio area ( right off I-275 at Route 28). If you’re planning to fly by commercial airline, you’d fly into Greater Cincinnati Airport located in Covington, Kentucky. Private pilots can fly to the Cincinnati Lunken Airport, or into Clermont County Airport.

We’re excited to move this into the real planning stages now and look forward to seeing everyone. More details will be posted soon.

Mac, maybe not practical, but your book seems very popular. If you intend to teach traditionally (thinking high school auto shop) then I’m sure there would be a market for a video of the sessions. Especially if you’re only intending to do this once. I suggest this for purely selfish reasons…

Just a quick reminder……the group rate for the Holiday Inn will expire by August 12th. If you haven’t made your reservation yet, be sure to do so asap in order to get the good rate. Also, if your plans have changed and you cannot make the school, please contact me asap so that we can free up your spot for someone else who is on the alternate list. Thanks!

The preparations for the training school are well underway. I have been in touch with the Holiday Inn Express in ****ord, Ohio where we had blocked off rooms for the event. The cut-off date for the special rates was Aug 12th but we asked them to extend that for one more week. If you have not made your reservations yet, please try to confirm them before Aug 17th, after which the room rates will go up. It is not required that you stay at this location but this is where we are picking up and dropping each day of the school. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Thanks.
