My old 1965. Fun to build. Fun to drive. I had to sell it when I moved. 302/5.0 HO with 3 on the tree and 9" POSI upload_2024-7-4_13-40-36.png upload_2024-7-4_13-41-9.png upload_2024-7-4_13-41-54.png

What a beauty! I wish to see that vehicle on the road one day, just to enjoy it in person and maybe take some pictures. I dream of doing a similar project myself one day, but for now, I'm busy with my dissertation. Thankfully, https://academized.com/dissertation-writing-service is helping me manage the workload. Even with their support, my head is still full of ideas, research, and deadlines. It’s a challenging but exciting time, balancing my academic responsibilities while dreaming about future projects

Local pinstripers van. Why it isn't pinstriped I'm not sure but I really like it.

  5. I am so sorry that we as a world are going to globalized platform sharing where we all have the same ugly vehicles not our own unique cars/trucks. Your Vans are definitely uniquely Australian just like American Vans are definitely unique to the North American continent or at least they used to be and Europe had their own vans too.

When I was a teenager I raced powerboats, so a tow vehicle / travel vehicle was a priority. First ride was a 76’ Ford van partially subsidized by the parents. Found it on the used lot at the local Chevy dealer in 79’. Exterior had a wild paint job with stripes, fades, and murals . . But the inside was empty. They said it was traded on a new mini-truck. (!!)

It got four captains chairs, a fold out couch, wood paneling, and not quite shag carpet. Only drag was it was a 300-6 and three on the tree. But I loved it.

Still looking for a picture to post. Still sort of looking for a shorty Ford (this time with a V8 and A/C). Would like to build a modern version of the 70’s shag wagon.

  7. Surely someone has/had a V8 swapped Astro van?

I have a 88 Econoline conversion van as my daily. Love it. Would love to strip out the interior and make it a real shag wagon,im just too old for shaggin, lol. Are there any aftermarket dress up shops up there that sell bolt on stuff? Flares, bubble windows etc?

Count me in as well. Built this back in 1976 when I was 17. IMG_2033.jpeg
