I am experience some vapor lock on my small block chevy in my 60 Impala.

I now have a fuel filter between the fuel pump and the carburator.

Is is better to have the fuel
filter before the fuel pump away for the engine heat?
Or will this make the fuel pump work harder?

Has anyone ever placed a fuel filter just outside of the fuel tank?

I live in Las Vegas and we have to deal with extreme heat. It is going to be 112 degree today. The heat off of the asphalt is also hard to deal with.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I like to have 2 filters , one before the pump and one near the carb. Get you a inline filter that has a vapor return line on it.Mount it close to the carb and run a line back to the tank from the small connection on the fuel filter. Then kiss vapor lock good bye. My 65 Ranchero was damm near un-usable here in Phoe starting in May from vapor lock, did this conversion and it's FIXED!!
