Vega box rebuild, where do I get a kit???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Useless, Jun 10, 2004.

  1. I am wanting to rebuild my Vega - GM140 steering box. Any one know where I can get the parts? I only want to buy a new one if I have to, I'm poor. Thanks in advance, Useless.

From what I've heard, nobody sells kits and the parts guys at GM or Mullins won't sell you individual parts. You may have to go to a bearing supply house for bearings and seals, and make your gaskets out of sheet stock.

    Or buy new from Mullins.

I rebuilt mine by taking it apart and taking the bearings and seals to the local bearing supply house, The prices on the stuff really wasnt bad. I should have written everything down but I didnt. I am using 85-140 synthetic oil instead of the grease, works great and keeps everything lubed. Good luck, Dale
