Ok guys, well you all know I finally have my car back now, so I plan to do some work.

1 door lines up and works flawless, the p***. door has a sag. When I shut the door it hangs, if I lift up some, it then shuts. Is this a sign of needing a new hinge? I dont think there are any bushings are there? I cant find a hinge anywhere online.

My vent windows were removed at the "body shop" if you can call it that. Anyway, i think what is called the pivot, is in desperate need of replacing. I am going to rebuild the vent windows, I have all the rubber. Where can I source this part, and is that what its called?

Your hinges can be rebuilt with new pins and bushings. You need to find the right length and diameter pin and the correct I.D. bushing.

i would try hinge pins and bushings as well. they might even have them at auto zone in those kits labeled emergency or something like that.

As others have said about the door, new pins and bushings. The part you pointed out for the vent window I think is called vent window pivot. A vent window from a four door should also fit your car. I'm glad to see you got your car back and are moving on.

O'Reillys calls that section with the pins and bushings "HELP" the company that they are listed under is Dorman.Give Obsolete Ford aka Cl***ic Auto Parts a call about the vent windows also C&G Ford Parts is usually a good source. They may have both items.

One trick I learned on aligning doors happened when I was in WY visiting my son and the wind caught the door on my wife's Durango and blew it open, springing the hinge and causing the door to droop. I put my floor jack, with a 2x4 on it, under the end of the door and jack it up. It realigns the hinge. I have had to do this maybe 4 times in 7 years. It's cheaper than replacing a hinge. Just be careful not to lift it too high.

The floor jack trick works on a newer car with good hinges for sure. If you use that trick on worn hinges, you'll be bending the car around to compensate for the wear, which means when you do eventually replace/rebuild the hinge, you likely will have door alignment headaches.

Thanks for the info. I have a new set of door hinge pins from cl***ic auto I bought a few months ago. I just need to determine the bushings now.

I will call some places on the vent pivot piece, none of the sites or catalogs I have list that piece, I'm surprised if they don't make it.

A few years ago I bought Vent window repair kits for a 2 dr. Hardtop on Ebay, they contained the pivot bolt and a few rivets to install it. I dont know if anyone is currently reproducing these kits, the ones that I bought looked like old stock from a parts store.

Maybe you could cut the head off of a bolt and weld it in place as a pivot.

I am in the same situation with my p***enger side vent so I am glad this topic came up. I have seen the spring and nut available but I have not been able to find the pivot. I figured I would have to make one so if you find some please let us know.

What is the best way to get the gl*** out with wrecking the frame??
