Can the lower pivot be repaired or does it have to be replaced on a 54 Ford / Merc front vent window?

I bought a new vent pivot stud on Ebay awhile ago and I just rivoted it to the vent gl*** frame of my '54 Mercury Convertible earlier today. The left and right are different. I see none of these available on Ebay for '49-'56 Ford/Mercury at the moment but they are offered once in awhile. Alan S. Freeman

If you are a good welder/fabricator I'm sure it can be repaired, if the stud is completely rusted through getting the correct angle may be difficult.

I have also purchased replacement studs on Ebay.

I just took mine to local gl*** shop, they would have what you need.

I met koolmercuryman at the Route 66 car show in Springfield, Il. a couple of weeks ago and I wish everyone could see his car! You would never know that Ford never made a 2dr. 54 Merc station wagon. This car is beautiful!!!

Thanks carnut341 it was nice meeting you at the Springfield Show, I really like that Show 1100 cars in downtown Springfield, IL. My Merc wagon was a Ford Ranchwagon 3 years ago, and I still won Best Mercury at the Show.

Usually the pivots are so rusty that they have separated from the part that is attached to the vent window, I purchased my replacements from C & G FORD PARTS, Escondido CA ,760 740-8700
