Are these seriously $200. Mine need replacing but who decided the price lol. Are there any that are interchangeable for less?
thanks for the answer, everywhere I looked for Fairlane specific they were 195+ I did see the falcon ones but was unsure of fitment.
Welcome to the world of aftermarket parts.... The $200 price is the low end of the scale. These sorts of parts have to be molded for fit to the specific vehicle, if it fit other cars they would list them. It costs money to make the mold and the cost has to balanced against possible sales of said part. How many '62-65 Fairlanes are still on the road and out of that number, how many owners will purchase that part? How long will it take the manufacturer to recoup his investment? Guess wrong and the seller ends up with unsold inventory. Personally, price-shopping for rubber parts has returned uneven results at best. Steele Rubber has one of the better reputations but they aren't cheap. But trying to make a ill-fitting part work isn't any fun either. I avoid the import stuff like the plague, only buying if it's the only choice. Those are for the more-popular hardtops/convertibles, the OP has a sedan so those may not fit or may need alterations. Make sure you know what you're buying, do as much research as possible.
