It's as good as it gets, new parts or old. I love it. I'm more of a kustom guy but there's just something about these cars. Maybe it's just the fact of "beginnings" that are all over it. Leg *******? I've had my leg humped before (also a figure of speach so don't start!) and I guess it's just a form of compliment to fine craftsmanship. I'm always amazed at the use of what I call "concours quality" on something other than a Packard or Duesenberg. It fits. I'm guessing that many of the negatives come from that thought of "I build my cars to drive..." which I've learned in many cases is a defense for the "can't do its" or "can't afford its" both having never need be said. To the credit of Mr. Tardel and Ryan, yes indeed that style is a building block of this community. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us. Sorry for the mess...you can clean your legs now
Well put, Highlander. I'd hump Vern, Keith AND Ryan's leg for a ride in that car. But I'm easy! Simply a beautiful car. I WISH I could afford such a work of art AND I'd drive the friggin' wheels off of it. Congrats to Vern and crew for keepin' the torch lit. Late.
QUOTE: "most of my post in this thread is a tongue in cheek jab at the hamb collective pedestal pushing of Vern Tardel. I never quite understood why although a great builder with obvious skill, he is in the hamb's eyes immune from criticism. The guy could post a pic of his excrement and half the forum would post about it's exquisite shape color and texture even going as far as to say it's likes will never be seen again" "it's a nice car, but honestly people, stop ******* the guys leg" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....or something like that, so you have a right to your opinion but............ I don't think you really understand that what most people on this board have for Vern: RESPECT He has done more with old Hot Rods than 99% of us could ever dream of doing. So now you've done it, you've hurt Vern's feelings and boy is he pissed!!!!
