Got a call from a bud sayin' he just ordered some parts from Vern, and Vern said he was going to retire from the parts business. He said he had a couple of books left to do and he might build some engines, but at 70 years young, he doesn't want to sell parts anymore. He said he tried to retire a couple of times before, but this time he's gonna do it....just thought I'd p*** this along.
I've talked to Vern in length about it... Even so, I'll believe it when I see it. One thing I'm sure of, Vern will always be surrounded by hot rods. It's such a large part of him. Obviously, I am very biased. I love the man.
BTW, I was just rapping with Keith about another matter... He mentioned that Vern is selling off the parts collection. If you are interested, show up on Saturdays from 8am to 5pm. Cash only. No shipping.
The sale is not on quite yet. It should go down in a couple of weeks. I'll post details and alert you guys as soon as Vern gives me the green light. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
In Vern's News letter a few weeks ago he said that it was his last news letter and he was going to take a slower pace and that Keith would be running the shop. When a guy has worked hard all his life you can't blame him for wanting to shift into a slower pace and enjoy life a bit more along with maybe finishing up those "someday" projects.
MrChevy48 said it...but thanks to Vern for what he's done....buying his little books just made things clearer....thanks for all you've done !!
