Just when i thought the old man had lost it and would stroll off into small block land.......he found his senses and decided to put back together his 354 hemi. It's as "swamp rat 1" nasty as they come bored .250 over, weiand intake with 8 stromberg 97s. straight zoomies adjustable rockers...among other things. ... just like it was in 1962.

Problem is the distributor cap on the vertex mag is shot. I know nothing about this cap other than it is brown....the mag is pre 62.

Anyone know who might make or sell new or NOS caps for that mag......and is there a diffrence between the black caps on the newer vertex mags and the brown one on his older mag.

    Your help is greatly appricated!

Guys sell "good" brown caps on Ebay - used of course. I'm sure guys restoring vintage race cars are the market. I see them go for stupid money every now and again. Finding a NOS one isn't out of the question, but I assume so luck will be needed.

AFIK there is no physical difference between the old caps and the new - only difference i s that the new caps are of a better grade of plastic - I think the brown ones were bakelite or a similar material.
