Upon first glance, I did too. My first thought was...."How do you get buzzards to sit still on something not dead and rotting, much less get close enough to them to take picture......Oh, it's a painting! And a damn good one at that!

Great work, everyone... I hate getting here late, makes for a long, drawn-out post praising everyone!
Robin, awesome stuff AGAIN! Zombie, man... everything you do is cool! Coop, I enjoy looking at girls, so no complaints here....
Jigger, that reminds me of a model kit I built in grammar school.... the car, not the pottery guy...:D Lowcab, incredible... Dutch Courage, man, you rock!
Chop, more wicked stuff! Custom Cory, neaat-o! Burny, I dig your work! Ryz, those are amazing! Gary C, again this week with the coolness! Toyghoul, you are amazingly talented...Darin, man.... MONSTEROUS! You're awesome!
Mask, I'm loving your work each week, and happy birthday, man!

I'm upo to my eyes in SEMA stuff, so here's an older piece with some updates... not sure if I've ever shared this one before...

    AWESOME WORK PEOPLE!

I'm reworking this a little just for fun. Ultimately the car was done for a t-shirt design and I just wanted to make a poster out of it. Enjoy.

    Bloody amazing all of you!
Janne Kutja and Zombie caught my eye as usual. Beautiful, and nice to see a 4-door too!
4t64rd; nice graphic style and period looking too!
CustomCory: I love your ideas and laid back style!
Coop: I dont think that need to be censored, but then I am Swedish… Nice.
PCK: Youve got a really personal style, I like it.
GaryC: You've got alot of Great ideas! I love the way you mix everything!

Heres a drawing I made of my Volvo a while back. I see it as an intermediate primer version. Think I'll be going for some sort of gold with Chrome reversed and wide whites for the finished look. White tuck n' roll. Maybe some pinstripe flames…
Its easier to draw them than to build them…

Also: Please have a look at my Colouring books if you havent already:

Thanks everybody for the compliments, been tryin to get one more on . 47 Chevrolet made into a hardtop with 54 Chevy hubcaps. I wouldn't mind having something like this. I always enjoy ALL of ya'lls work. Those 54 hubcaps might be a lowrider thing, but its a southern tradition too!

Here is a sneek peek of one of the pieces I will be showing at the "Radials" show with myself, Dan Giday (Flatshoebox) and August Van at the 2 Bits Gallery in Long Beach, Sept 22nd...was that a shameless enough plug?

Well, I know I'm out of my league here, but what the hell. I thought of posting this before, but you guys are so damn good it's a little intimidating. Then I figured maybe this would be a perfect place to get some constructive criticism.
This is for a friend of mine who grew up with my kids at the local car shows and cruises. He's in the Air Force now and working on a C-130. He asked me to design some nose art for it. It's been a lonnnnng time since I did any art work, but I figured I'd give it a shot.
I sketched this out first and then scanned it into photoshop, then started changing it to meet what he and the "higher up's" wanted.
The gray background is the actual color of the plane, the number is the planes number (google it if you want to see the actual plane), the fuel pump is because they do a lot of refueling missions, and the batwings and moon is because they work mostly at night.
I'm not the artist I used to be, and every time I start to think it's pretty good, along comes the Friday art show, and I go "back to the drawing board". My paints all dried up years ago, and my brushes are all hard and dry, so I figured I'd try photoshop, but because I've never had any training in it, I'm sort of stumbling around in the dark, so be kind, but let me know what you think and what I can improve before I send him the final version.
The irony of all of this is that when I joined the Air Force in 1968 the recruiter promised me I'd be an illustrator, they made me a medic! Now nearly 40 years later, I'm doing nose art for an old C-130 that was probably flying when I was in there, --- mission accomplished in some small way I guess.:)

  12. DtroitDinosaur, widewhitewalls, those are insane! I love both of these pieces.
Flyin'P, That is the model you built as a kid! Glad to know my stuff's so juvenile, thanks!

So much great stuff I can't keep up so I'll just throw one up I did in the last hour or so. I roughed out the car and girl separately in a few minutes then, after scanning them, composed them and rendered the color. FAST-FAST-FAST!!!

I don't think I've posted this before, so if I have just deal with it. :D

I banged this out while eatin' my ham & cheese at the desk at work one day right before last year's Roundup to put on a couple t-shirts. It's a fictitious car club with 2 members: me and my now-6-year-old son.

Here's Mitch's art for the week. I really need a scanner to do it justice. Gary C. I like the way you take real cars and do radical stuff with them in concept. Great art by the way from everybody, especially zombie, coop, surf monkey is really good for just picking up colored pencils. himjively I bought a bunch of your wicked artwork last week at the hotrodhoedown in Philadelphia. I hope your going to be at the Hellbound Hayride in Allentown selling your goods. Friday art rules!!! Joe

Heres some stuff I worked on this week. The Triumph sign is for a friend and the clock is something that I have been meaning to do for awhile. I've only been stripping for about 6 months but I still think they turned out ok.
