Man the mark just keeps gettin' higher! Great Show this week.

First a little practice panel. I think I am improving, more consistant lines and better symmetry.

Inspired by a pic I shot of the HAMBs own flt-blks pick-em-up at Dewey last year.

With the webs I had to call it Flat Black Widow. [IMG]

Man, I gots to get a better camera! [IMG]

MANY years ago, I did a comic book FILLED with little cartoons starring all my local car-guy buddies in funny little stories based loosely on their actual real-life exploits and personality quirks!

Hard to read a fully scanned page, so I broke one down for ya...

(Keep in mind this was right out of high school...mid/late 80s!)

My two buds, Bryan and Dave ran a general automotive repair shop in Detroit. One day Bryan tried to weld a gas tank and it blew a shot of flames out the filler neck, knocked him down and flew across the parking lot...I took that incident and ran with it!

Posted these a few times...but heres what im working on! (go easy, ive only been at this a few months)

Panel for the raffle thingie. Black one isnt done yet and the white one looks really cool after i cleaned it u pwith some windex. Ive learned that salmon pink ****s just as much if not MORE to stripe with that white!!!

I think the helmet flying eyeball is better..i dont know what i was thinking on the black seat. That helmet is probably the coolest thing ive striped...and it aint even mine [IMG] its an original "chopper" helmet.

I have this COOL toilet seat..its clear resin...the WHOLE thing..and it has like little 60's style silver "chunks" "flakes in it...like someome ripped up tinfoil. LOOKS REALLY RAD>....thats this weekend.

Im awaiting some brushes to come in and then im going to give my first shot at doing a RF.

thanks to Ray and Ian for the help over the week!!!!!!!!!

If this counts as "Art" i did this yesterday..not done yet..need so smooth it out, some metal filler than powdercoat. Im by NO MEANS a welder or a metal fabber...but i basicically made a template..then took anothe chunk of steel and welded it on top of the steel to get the "meaty" part of the pivot point. I basically grinded a bevel on both pieces to make sure i can lay a bead in there nice witout having to grind a lot.

also, these were completely made, they started off as steel sheet, i authentic br*** knuckles are too small. [IMG]

  24. Not art, not car related, and probably not very interesting to most of you, but it's as close as I've come to creating anything in awhile. Anyway, it involves beer and cigars and hockey, which to most guys in my neighbourhood are right up there with cars and women.

Yep, it's a cigar box guitar, with a tap handle on one end, and a hockey stick for a neck.

Ok, ok, the next one will involve some car parts and pin striping. [IMG]
