I already posted these individually on another post(ART:faux license plate extravaganza)but thought I would show a group of them and let you pick out the REAL plate in the pile.Enjoy. Ray
I pick MA Safari too. It's not that CRUISIN one. That sticker is paint. The last 3 or 4 on top you can see the flat light reflection, so those are obviously not real. The red white and blue one is spot on!
I'll pick "SAFARI5" which is the top row, 4th one in from the left in blue......great work again Ray!
Good eye Bill and Chad;the white SAFARI M*** plate is the only real one there. It came with my 57 Safari when I bought it and was on the car from 1974 to 1979 when the car was put into storage. The CRUISIN plate does indeed have a painted sticker on it,the SAFARI5 plate was one of the first I did and is a little crude. The W1EUI plate was painted for an old friend who is a ham radio operator in M***achusetts and the BIGOLDS plate is my contribution to the HAMB thrash. The hardest one to do was the bicentennial plate and I still got the stripes a little too low.My next one is going to have a painted background;maybe a Florida tag.The Safari plates I'll use on my Safaris and change them off every so often. Here's a closeup of the bicentennial plate. Ray
Man you dingbats sure start early in the mornin wit the art posts!!! Just got out of the Darkroom. Here are a few cheap Chineese Holgs Pics. Enjoy. Mike
That last pic is GREAT!Real dramatic angle.Sorry for the early startup but I was fired up early in the morning and didn't get to bed 'til 3AM.Dog wanted to go out and chase rodents at 6AM and I had to present a sign proposal at 9AM so I just stayed up. My wife just got these pix back tonight so I figured to share a couple. These were taken at Louisville last month. One of them might be a trifle objectionable so if you're under 18,byp*** this post now.I only painted PART of this so if you have a complaint, ring up Shane Syx. The Safari is a new 1/18th scale Muscle Machine I flamed for a fellow striper(Kevin Scott). The Metropolitan was a repeat customer and the crucifix was a request(I don't normally do religious works except a couple I did for myself). So here they are:
great stuff by all. KRITZ, i'm still waiting to see a full on shot of the Ford. did i miss it??? the stripes look righteous... (FYI hey, i'm coming out to Eric's saturday). CAFFIENE love the brake levers, kudos! Brush, i wish i had everything i've ever seen of yours hangin on my walls. somethin about yours a JEEM'S artwork that inspires me and you both have different styles. so much talent!!! SAFARIKNUT-- loved the history lesson Ray. you are the stripe master. did'nt see a thing on here i did'nt like. even FAT HACK'S "OSHA" comic strip was amussing.
Damn, and I was gonna pick the bicentenial plate. What an inspiration this week. Wish I had some artistic ability... maybe some of these will rub off on me. You guys and girls are all awesome. Jay
[ QUOTE ] and the BIGOLDS plate is my contribution to the HAMB thrash. Ray [/ QUOTE ] That is SOOOO cool of you Ray - Denise will absolutely pee her pants over it I'm sure
And here is the art I did for the vlv car show t-shirts. Go to the pre-vlv party tommorrow or Axle will never post on the HAMB again My scanner is second rate so bear with it
These Art Shows just get better and better! Great work from everyone. Ray, your really in a renaissance groove, man. Von Tingler, just love that 1shot yer slinging on those tins. Very nice. Brush, you already know how I feel about ya. Great stuff everyone! Joel
I shot a how-to story about metal embossing Wednesday morning at a friend's shop. He's a pretty crafty fabricator with a killer metal shop. He's doing some major pieces for a '31 Chevy pickup, including embossed runningboards and splash aprons. This stamping is 16-gauge steel that, with some additional pressbrake and TIG work, will be formed into a finished runningboard. This work is surprisingly affordable.
