very nice, and your not too far from me.. the one im wanting to start is a lil worse than that. someome split it down the middle trying to widen it, then realized they couldnt so they tacked it back together, but its fixable for sure. it appears to be used as a dirt track car at one time. but not hacked up at all.

I've posted these before, but here ya go...... It's a 30, on 32 rails with a 32 grillshell, 32 tank and 32 dash. The steering wheel is a 40 Ford, tail lights are 50 Pontiac, air cleaner is 55 Caddy and the engine is a 58 283. I went for the 50's hotrod look. It's got radials and coil overs but I wanted a 'little' comfort.... That's about what I got - a little.

Yes on the 32 Header, I also used the windsheild posts down to the cowl. But the door tops are handmade. I just used a HF beadroller to make most of the patches and stuff.

Thanks, Yea I already built a 1930 model A Coupe thats still model A like. I chopped it 4 inches. It has a 390 Caddilac. Thats why I changed it up. I didnt really want 2 of the same or close. And flatheads are cool. I hope to have a car with one someday.

Haha, Yea it should make some people look twice.

I stared with a body that was missing the whole bottom, along with a few inches up all the way around. The header was shot too as was the bottom of both doors and deck lid.
Guy i bought it from said it was junk..probably was close by some guy's standards, but if it were not i wouldn't have been able to afford it.
I know, obviously not an A, but the repairs are pretty much the same.

there were 3 good builders on kc's cl last wk. $2500 each, don't know how much working room there was. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/3233303357.html
Funny thing is running and driving ones that are parked or older restorations go cheaper. Just like pickers buying that one for 5.5K and expert saying it was too much.
still good deals out there. seems like the going rate is 2500 needing patch panels
if you got the time/skills you can get one not as nice and build up. Good luck

We just picked up a 31 coupe that is the roughest one I have seen in a long time. My friend is building it and he is not a computor guy so I have to take picks if I ever get my feet back on the ground (back has gone south). The entire bottoms are gone, cowl hit by a tree and no sub structure at all. It is a mess but despite that hehas put in patch panels and has scratch built all the subs and now it is setting on an A frame. Post had been cut off so he is going to fab up new posts and make it into a roadster. This guy is 72 and has been building cars all his life. You would enjoy seeing his work so I will get pics and follow up on this later.

AHHHHH, I remember those days, finding cars in the woods, dragging them out and in a few years driving them.....That right there folks is genuine New England steel!!! Cream of the crop!!

Looks like it hit a curb at 40mph!

Really not THAT bad if you look at it in pieces or sections. Once you cut out the sub rails that are probably folded, a good part of that will pull out. I would start with that if I got it cheap.

  25. I love how I'm seeing all these Hemi's in these after shots. I'm a ****er for the 331. :D

54 Caddy, late '31 by the indented firewall. You got yer work cut out!
You'll want a side to side diagonal brace with two uprights where the roof hits the rear quarter panels.

That one makes me feel a lot better about the 31 Victoria I bought and drug home. Here I thought had a challenge ahead of me.

  30. Just looks good together. I've seen Hemi's in everything, but it just looks like it was made for the Model A. Its just.....***y. :D
