I was watching this video and my daughter just asked me what it was, I tried to explain it to her without breaking down and crying like a child. Deep down inside, I love this country we call the United States of America. Dammit..., thanks for all who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's just not right how they, us, we are treated....like second class citizens by our own government. (sorry...dont mean to rant) Veterans...God Bless you all.

Remembrance day and ANZAC day (April 25th) are two very special days for we soldiers, sailors and airmen (Women). Sometimes the memory's are bad, though many more good. I try to see my fallen mates in the happier times. Times, places and events that bring a smile to my face. I will remember. The Soldier. It is the soldier, not the reporter, pWho has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organiser, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped in the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag. And in particular for we Aussies, the ANZAC ode. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. LEST WE FORGET Doc, Australian Regular Army, Royal Australian Army Medical Corps. 1st Field Hospital, 103 Bty. 8/12 Medium Regt. Father- Lifer non-com; Army. Pacific islands; several. Post-war; Germany & France. Gone in '85. Me- Two-year grunt; Army, 199th light. Viet Nam; delta mostly, some triangle. '67 & '68. No problem at all sharing the day with my friends who died there.
This is our most important holiday! I am so thankful for all of the young people that give their time and their lives for us... Thank you for all your efforts. I think we would be much better off if it was mandatory for at least a year to trade time in the service, straighten some kids out. I myself was in the Marine Corp, 3rd battalion, I co. Never saw a foreign war as I was yanked the day I was leaving for Desert Storm. Craziest day of my life, leaving one minute with all my gear packed waiting for the plane, and the next minute with a honorable discharge in my hand due to a back injury 6 months before. So I know what its like to be scared as I was on my way. My friends got fucked up over there, makes me cry right now. Thanks guys, I love you all! My grandpa Whitey fought in Germany and made it out alive. My Uncle Leroy was kept behind to entertain officers with his piano playing while all his friends died in the Battle of the Bulge. I think about you guys every day while I roam free, no words can explain how I feel for you and your familys for putting in your time. Thanks again!
Myself, US Air Force 81-87 both my sons are presently active duty Air Force Thanks to all the veterans here, my greatest admiration and respect go out to you all.

my family has been in every major war this country has been in since the before it was a country, hundreds of years, dozens of vetrans. my uncles are the last surviving family vetrans, Korea and Viet Nam grandfathers were in both big wars one and two, they have been gone for many years now. none ever talked about it much, none took it lightly all saw battle and buddies killed. my son is the only one currently serving soon to be granted an honorable discharge possibly as soon as this month. John Smith USAF, 1 tour Kuwait, twice to Afghanistan 2000-2007? thank you vetrans we owe you all our very lives
I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others Feared to go,and did what others Failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness... should I fail. I have seen the Face of terror; Felt the stinging cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, pained, and Hoped... but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best Forgotten. At least someday i will be able to say that I was proud of what I was........a Soldier
To all of you veterans, THANK YOU and may God bless you. It is God who has given us our inalienable rights. It is all of you who have defended our rights. Your sacrifice, hard work, courage and dedication ARE very much appreciated.
A huge Thank You to all the Veterans past and present!!! You are all a shinning example of what makes and keeps this country so great!!! My thoughts and prayers for those, and their families, who are currently serving!!!
