Well I've seen my Vicky for the first time. It's just arrived. The frame is junk, not the one in the picture, which was a bit of a disappointment but the body was quite good. The floor is rusty, and I guess Vicky floors are unavailable but I guess I can patch it up. The garnishes were missing but will, hopefully, turn up. They're probably packed in another car. Doors are good. Firewall looked like a 4 cylinder. So I bought the body but left the ch***is where it was. I've just built a new ch***is and will use that instead. Twitter @edsrodshop
I've built an AMT model of my Victoria the way I plan to build it. I think it's always a good idea to build a model kit first to check out how it'll look. And as AMT Victorias are plentiful I built a couple. This one is closest to what I plan to do. It'll need to be a little lower at the front end and will need larger tires on the rear. The rear lights are '41 Plymouth but they're close in appearance to the '49 Chevy lights I'm using. I found a cherry '32 tank in a friend's metal trash!!!! so got that for free. Having an original '32 tank on hand and a cherry original '32 grill means it won't be channelled. Neither will it be chopped. I was planning on painting it black over maroon with WW tires but the all black look of the model makes me think this looks cleaner. Here are some pictures of the model. Ed
