Driveshaft angle and phasing are actually pretty simple.... until you try to explain them, when it can get difficult quick This little two-minute video lays it out so anyone can understand. Lots of fun. VIDEO: DRIVESHAFT ANGLE AND PHASING
Video is further down the page on Mac's link. We made one of these when I was in college, majoring in Ag Machanization. There are lots of u joints on farm equipment. It was neat to study and understand. The video does a great job.
click where it says Video, takes you to Mac's Motor City Garage & scroll down the page for the video. Excellent demonstration
I need to show this to one of my buds, who has that elliptical jive in his drive shafts AND his walk! A keeper. Gary
the logical follow-up video showing operation of constant-velocity joints.... http://www.macsmotorcitygarage.com/2014/07/31/video-the-constant-velocity-joint-in-action/
Great video. I knew about the phasing & angle deals, but that really demonstrates the actual real world effects of both. Every car guy should watch this, especially the youngin's just starting out. Could save a lot of head scratching later on. Thanks for posting it Bill.
