Video Of 1970 Firecracker 400

This is the first time this video has been published. My friend, Hugh Greeson, shot this 8mm footage at Daytona in 1970. Watch closely and you can see the late Marty Robbins pass in front of the camera in the pits. There's also some good shots of the lovely Linda Vaughn.

Cool movie, although slightly off-topic for this board, too new. Interesting to see Petty, he seems really small. Also note the convertible on the race track, actually racing! He also zooms in on Linda's boobs and the bikini bottom.

 

convert is the pace car..............notice our old driver...LeeRoy Yarborough in the #98 Talledega passing on the last bit of footage.............ran those winged things down and ran away with that one.............

Maybe a little off topic (hey they did have sideburns!).....but very neat. The quality is great. No telling what all treasures are on YouTube!

 

Thats really cool, thanks for sharing. One of those Dodge Daytona's sold on Ebay a couple of years ago for just under a million bucks. I think it was the red one that did 200mph at Talledega.
